53rd International Convention
Geneva, Switzerland
October 11 - 15, 2010

The Society of Wood Science and Technology held its 2010 International  Convention in Geneva, Switzerland at the Palais des Nations together with our co-hosts the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe - Timber Committee (UNECE-TC).

Sessions

Innovative Wood Products are the Future

Session 1 Markets for use of solid and engineered wood products in green construction

The official languages of the convention were English, French, and Russian.  There were simultaneous translations. Each session had a North American and a European co-chair.  

The UNECE Timber Committee meeting was held October 11-15 with both concurrent and parallel sessions.


Banquet

Final Day Industry Tour: The last day of the convention was a day-long tour including visits to the Center for European Nuclear Research (CERN), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and Sauvabelin Tower.
